At 21:19 on August 8, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province (33.20 degrees north latitude, 103.82 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 20 kilometers. As of 17:00 on August 9, nearly 40 rescue machines and tools have been put into operation on the site, and nearly 200 rescue personnel have been involved. It is reported that besides Sichuan Fire Brigade, there are also rescue forces from Gansu, Shanxi and Chongqing, with a total of 1217 people. More than 30000 tourists were evacuated and settled safely, and about 5000 vehicles left Jiuzhaigou County safely. The earthquake has killed 19 people and injured 263, including 3 critically.
